North Branch Winter

February 2008
Ice has formed out beyond the dock, there's 10 or more inches of snow on the ground and the river awaits the beginning of a new season of fly fishing. The dogs are anxious for the spring flights of woodcock and discovering new covers for next falls hunt.
We're refinishing the AuSable Riverboat, changing and cleaning fly lines and counting the days until spring.
I'm going to try to share my love for the North Branch of the AuSable River, its fabulous brook and brown trout, the Ruffed Grouse and Woodcock found in the thousands of acres of habitat nearby and the adventures of "LU" and "MOLLY", my dogs.
I'll want you to meet my fishing and hunting friends as well and share our experiences. Check back often.
