IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS

What more could you ask for? We have beautiful fall colors, cool mornings to hunt grouse and woodcock and sunny afternoons to fish for fall colored brook tout. The one above was taken with an ant on 7x tippet.
My dear friends Dick & Bill Straub from Pennsylvania will be at LoBank the first week of October. Dick and I have been friends since the mid-70s and have hunted and fished together most every year. Dick judged the Grand National Futurity in 1979 and placed my pointer Stargazer. When the Grand National was in Marienville we'd trial and hunt there and likewise in Gladwin. Bill is a retired physician who loves to fish and hunt but was never foolish enough to get involved in field trials. He always has dogs like his current pointer Patty that didn't make it in trials because she was too smart to run off, handled and found birds.
Dick and Bill are really quite a pair. By the time I'd struggle out of bed at 6:00AM they'll be ready to go. Once last year I got up at 4:30AM to go to the bathroom and they were sitting at the dining room table having breakfast! I'll need to take another week off to recover from trying to keep up with them.
It just doesn't get any better than this.....................................
