Last Wednesday I led our first PROJECT HEALING WATERS class for the wounded soldiers at the Lutz Veterans Hospital in Saginaw. We had eleven veterans of various disabilities and stages of recovery take part and all were excited at the possibility of being able to fly fish this summer.
Eight volunteers from the Mershon Chapter of Trout Unlimited, including my friend Carl Hubinger (pictured above)demonstrated various portions of the fly fishing sport. Next week we'll begin casting lessons and then the very basics of fly tying.
