I had forgotten how much fun it is to run your own dog in a field trial! For years I've let the pros do it and as a result my dogs have only had open placements. Not any more.

When Luke Eisenhart decided to move to the all-age circuit I brought Daisy home. She's a really great young dog, not yet 3 years old and in my opinion very capable of winning championships, particularily Amateur Chanpionships.

I entered her last weekend in the Amateur Shooting Dog stake run at Ionia just prior to the Michigan Open Championship to try to qualify her. I'm pleased to report that she got second in a highly competitive stake with many of the dogs that were entered in the open championship. She had 3 beautiful limb finds, 2 gorgeous backs of her bracemate and ran a strong forward race. I was so proud of her!.

So watch for us next fall in as many Amateur Championships as I can get to

Dale -- Congratulations! I thought Daisy was a special talent when I saw her as a puppy. She has grown into a real beauty.

Good luck next season.

Congratulations, Dale! It's all about having fun with your dog, but the ribbons do make it funner! Hope to catch the two of you at a championship this fall.
